Osteopathic medical students often prepare with several score types at once: a COMSAE result, progress in WelCOM, a subject-specific COMAT-SE, a COMAT Clinical score, and sometimes USMLE or NBME results too. Until now, CoreStepPrep’s free score predictor focused on the USMLE and NBME side of that picture.

That has changed.

The free CoreStepPrep Score Predictor now supports **COMLEX-USA Levels 1, 2-CE, and 3**, plus **all eight COMAT Clinical shelf subjects**. Students who take both COMLEX-USA and USMLE can use both predictor families in the same account without choosing one pathway over the other.

One score predictor for both osteopathic and USMLE pathways

The Score Predictor now has two clearly separated views:

Your results stay organized within the appropriate exam family, but both sides remain available from the same page. That matters for DO students who take COMLEX-USA only, as well as those who add one or more USMLE exams to their testing plan.

COMLEX-USA Level 1, Level 2-CE, and Level 3 support

Each COMLEX-USA level has its own score history and target date. Add an eligible practice result and CoreStepPrep places it on a common readiness scale so you can follow your trend over time.

For Level 2-CE and Level 3, the dashboard displays an estimated three-digit score, an interval around that estimate, a passing reference, and your margin relative to that reference. The official NBOME passing standards are currently 400 for Level 2-CE and 350 for Level 3.

For Level 1, the dashboard pairs pass/fail readiness with a **three-digit equated trend** so you can see progress between assessments instead of relying on a binary snapshot alone. The NBOME scoring and reporting guide remains the source for official score reporting.

COMAT Clinical shelves now work like the NBME shelf predictor

The COMAT Clinical section follows the same basic workflow as CoreStepPrep’s NBME shelf predictor. It includes separate views for the eight clinical subjects listed in the NBOME COMAT Administration Guide:

National percentile context built from the official NBOME table

COMAT Clinical scores use nationally normed standard scores. According to NBOME, the scale is centered at 100 with a standard deviation of 10, and its official percentile table maps each standard score to national percentile rank.

CoreStepPrep uses that official table when displaying COMAT Clinical percentiles. For example, the current table places:

CoreStepPrep uses **88** as its 10th-percentile comparison line, giving you a clear visual reference while your school’s requirements remain the standard you follow.

Current COMSAE form availability is represented correctly

The predictor’s assessment list follows the current student and resident availability published by NBOME:

NBOME also states that a form may be purchased more than once. If you repeat a form, you can save each attempt separately with its own date so that your history reflects what you actually completed.

School-assigned COMSAE forms remain separate from student- and resident-purchase forms where the delivery details differ. See the official COMSAE page for the current form and purchase information.

How to use the osteopathic score predictor

  2. Choose **COMLEX-USA & COMAT Clinical Shelf Exams**.
  3. Select Level 1, Level 2-CE, Level 3, or Clinical Shelf Score Prediction.
  4. Add a target date if you have one.
  5. Enter each eligible practice result with the correct form and date.
  6. Return after future assessments to see how your estimate and trend change.
  7. Share your actual COMLEX-USA or COMAT outcome when it becomes available.

If you also take USMLE or NBME exams, switch back to the USMLE family at any time. Both histories can be maintained simultaneously.
